CWS Membership
Annual dues are $40.00, and are used to offset the cost of the hall rentals and to supplement the cost of the club supported events.
Monthly Tastings
CWS tastings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at a circa 1800's church hall in downtown Bel Air, Maryland. This scenic setting adds to the food, fun, friends and wines for discussion and tasting. Each tasting has a pre-selected theme and is presented by either a current member or guest speaker. Tasting fees are normally $19 to $21 for members and $21 to $23 for guests, but are subject to change based on the featured wines.
(Tastings are not held during the months of the Wine Dinner, Picnic and Holiday Party.)
CWS Wine Dinner
June brings us the highly anticipated CWS Wine Dinner. This event is held at at various regional restaurants, and features a multi-course gourmet dinner. A specially selected wine pairing is served with each course. This event is always popular !
CWS Picnic
Everyone loves a picnic, and the Chesapeake Wine Society is no exception. Every July, the CWS has a picnic at the home of one of the members. This fun filled event features food hot off the grill, and culinary masterpieces proudly provided by each of the members. And don't forget the wine! With each member bringing a favorite bottle, there is always a good wine to pair with the wide variety of food choices. The fun is in discovering a new favorite to add to your shopping list.
CWS Holiday Party
It's hard to imagine the holidays without a party, and even harder to imagine a party without good friends and good wine. Every January, all of these ingredients are combined to create the CWS Holiday Party. As with the picnic, members breakout favorite recipies and wines to share with their friends. The club contributes by providing the main courses to compliment the dishes prepared by our own CWS chefs. Great food, great friends, a blind wine exchange and a champagne toast makes this a bash that no one wants to miss!
